James O. Johnson
He was born December 30, 1932, in Eckman, to Ira Ray and Anna (Jordre) Johnson. He was raised on the family farm and graduated from Glenburn High School in 1950. James married Joanne Riemer on February 23, 1952, on the Johnson Farm near Eckman. He was a rural mail carrier for almost 39 years, was a member of the Maxbass School Board, enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading and working on carpentry projects. He also enjoyed teaching Junior how to play pinochle. Family: wife of 59 years, Joanne, Maxbass; children, David (Pam) Johnson, and Joleen Johnson, all of Minot, Jonathan (Sandra) Johnson, Parker, CO; grandchildren, Matthew, James (Tenille), Jordan (Mara), Jodi, Samantha and Hannah; sister, Marian (Bill) Crawford, Minot; aunt, Julia Rhodes, Minot; brother- and sisters-in-law, Jerry (Doris) Riemer, Dickinson; Jean Riemer, Wannette, OK; and Helen Johnson, Minot; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. James was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ira, Jesse and Arlan; brothers who died as children, Alvin, Eugene and Keith; and brother-in-law, Bob Riemer. Funeral: Saturday, February 19, 2011, 2:00 p.m., at English Lutheran Church, Maxbass Burial: Eckman Riverside Cemetery, rural Maxbass, in the spring Visitation: Today 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Brose Funeral Home, Mohall.
