Mary Weise
She was born January 25, 1914, on the family farm southeast of Grano, to Otto and Emma (Fischer) Gingerich. She attended Lockwood School and graduated from high school there. She attended Northwest Bible College and Minot State Teachers College, both Minot; and Kirksville Teachers College, Kirksville, Mo. She taught at rural schools in Missouri and North Dakota for seven years. She worked civil service at Fort Sumner Air Force Base, N.M., and Northrup Aircraft, Hawthorn, Calif., during WW II. She worked at the Federal Reserve Bank in Los Angeles, Calif., before returning to North Dakota in 1946. Mary and Robert H. Weise were married June 10, 1948, in Mohall. They farmed in Lockwood Township, Renville County, until moving to a farm near Glenburn in 1956. Robert died March 7, 2000. She moved to the Henry Towers in Minot and to the Souris Valley Care Center, Velva, in 2005. Mary was a member of West Minot Church of God and their senior citizens club, and the Glenburn Senior Citizens Club. Family: son, Richard Weise, Granite Falls, Wash.; grandchildren, Todd Weise, San Francisco, Calif.; and Terra Weise, Sacramento, Calif. great-grandson, Todd Weise Jr., Placerville, Calif.. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and twin sister, Mabel Thomas.
