Ronald Broden

Ronald BrodenMOHALL – Ronald August Broden, 75, of Mohall; died Sunday, October 19, 2008 at a Minot hospital.

He was born September 6, 1933 in Kenmare to Albin and Augusta (Hass) Broden.  He moved with his family to Hamerly Township, Renville County, in 1937.

He graduated from Mohall High School in 1951.  He started his farming and ranching career that year as a small grains and diversified farmer with a special love for his cattle.

Ronald married Dianne McCarroll, of rural Tolley, on April 15, 1966.  They made their home in Hamerly Township on the family farm.

Ronald was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Mohall, and a 50+ year member of the Masonic Lodge.  He was also a longtime member of the Mohall Men’s Bowling League and the North Dakota Stockmen’s Association.

Family:  wife of 42 years, Dianne; children, Donald (Joetta) Broden, Lena (Joel) Bohm and Leslee Broden, all of rural Mohall; grandson, Maverick Bohm; sister, Dorothy (Selmer) Aalund, Bottineau; and several nieces and nephews, brother-in-law, Tom Morin, Spokane, WA; sisters-in-law; Elsie Broden, Libby, MT; and Doris Broden, Granville, ND.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Carl Alvin, John Robert “Bob” and Albin “Jr.”; and sister, Shirley Morin; and brother-in-law, Selmer Aalund.

Funeral:  Monday, October 27, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Mohall

Burial:  Mohall Community Cemetery

Family Service:  Sunday 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home
