Ronald Wright
Ronald was born October 11, 1922 in Martinsberg, NE, a son of Robert S. and Josephine (Book) Wright. He moved with his family to Minot at approximately four years of age, and to Grano where he attended grade school. He attended high school at the Lockwood School. In later years, he moved to a farm near Mohall in Grassland Township, Renville County, where he farmed for several years. Ronald and Helen Husby were married August 6, 1944 in Tolley. In 1948, and for the next ten years, he started custom combining in states from Oklahoma to North Dakota. They moved to Mohall where he owned and operated Wright’s Excavation for 27 years. He sold out and retired in 1987. Helen died November 14, 2009. Ronald was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Mohall. He was involved in many community projects; he served eight years on the Mohall city council, a life member of the Mohall Fire Department and Ambulance Service, life member of the Mohall Gun Club and life member of the Mohall Historical Society. Family: daughters, Gloria Foss, Minot, and Ruth Ann (Jim) Ackles, San Antonio, TX; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; sisters, CeCelia Veikley, Minot; Helen Klatt, Rugby; Bernadine (Hugh) Heiley, Mohall; and Estelle (Elmond) Lundgren, Dickinson; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Sheila, and brothers, Tharley and Byron.
