Sarah Sundahl

Sarah Louise SundahlMOHALL – Sarah Louise Sundahl, 89, of Mohall, died Monday, July 21, 2008, at a Minot hospital.

She was born November 17, 1918, in Sherwood, to Alf and Nelia (Sandberg) Sakshaug.  She graduated from Sherwood High School in 1936, and then went to work at the exchange, the creamery and the drug store.

She married Norman Sundahl on August 11, 1950.  They lived in Wahpeton while Norman went to school. They moved to their farm northwest of Mohall in Hamerly Township, Renville County, where they raised their six children.  They moved into Mohall in the winter of 1968.  Norman died January 28, 1988.

Sarah was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Sherwood, prior to transferring her membership to Zion Lutheran Church, Mohall.  She was a member of the Rebekah Circle at Zion Lutheran.  She was a charter member of the Bothun-Peterson American Legion Auxiliary in Sherwood, and a member of the George T. Taylor American Legion Auxiliary in Mohall.  She also served as a Cub Scout leader and was an Avon Lady.

Sarah loved to watch her grandchildren play basketball, enjoyed crocheting in her spare time, playing Bingo and her trips to Nevada.

Family:  daughters, Judy Sundahl, Minot; and Norma (Mike) Shaw, of Mohall; sons, Loren (Angie), Mohall; Arlen (Rita Rae), Minot; Thomas (Debbie) Battle Mountain, NV; and Jerry (Peggy), Mohall; ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren with one on the way; brother, Arnold (June) Sakshaug, Bismarck; sister-in-law, Sara Sakshaug, Fargo, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter, Jane; sister, Dora Edwards; and brother, Thomas Sakshaug.

Funeral:  Friday, July 25, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Mohall.

Burial:  Mohall Community Cemetery

Family Service:  Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
