MOHALL – Alice K. Meier, 100, Garrison, formerly of Mohall, died Monday, May 17, 2021, at a Garrison hospital.
She was born April 1, 1921, in Crary, to Eugene and Katheryn (Orchard) Bastion.  The family moved to Devils Lake where she graduated from St. Mary's Academy in 1938.
Alice married Leon Meier on July 11, 1942, in Churches Ferry.  When Leon enlisted in the U.S. Navy in July 1943, she followed him to Seattle, Wash., and worked for Boeing Aircraft while he was overseas.
Following his discharge, they moved to Cando where he worked for Great Northern Railroad and she worked for the Towner County Herald newspaper.  In 1960, they moved to Mohall.  She worked for the Register of Deeds and the Treasurer at the Renville County Court House for 20 years, retiring in 1981.  Leon died March 24, 1990.  She moved to The Meadows Assisted Living Center in Garrison in May of 2011.
Alice was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, Mohall, and St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Garrison.  She kept busy crocheting prayer shawls and other gifts for family and those in need.
Family: sons, Gerald (Pat) Meier, Bismarck, and Ronald Meier, Lake Audubon; grandchildren, Christopher, Kimberly and Marshall; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Kailynn, Jonathan, Alison, Henry and Carter.
Alice was preceded in death by: her parents, Eugene and Katheryn Bastion; husband, Leon Meier; granddaughter, Melissa; daughter-in-law, Kit Meier; and two sisters.
Funeral: 1 p.m., Thursday, May 20, 2021, at Zion Lutheran Church, Mohall.
Burial: Mohall Community Cemetery, Mohall.
Visitation: 1 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at Brose Funeral Home, Mohall.  Friends may also sign the online guestbook at brosefuneralhome.com
