Arnold Royce Erickson, 87, Minot, formerly of Mohall, died Monday, August 14, 2023, at a Velva care center.
He was born August 22, 1935, near Mohall, the second of eight children born to Selmer and Mabel (Townsend) Erickson.  As a young teenager, he started working for a contractor and farmers.  He also worked in Wahpeton for a time and the elevator in Greene for several years.
Arnold married Betty (Slaamod) Larson on October 23, 1966.  They moved to the Greene area where he started farming and had a trucking business.  As his farming operation grew, he moved from Greene to the Mohall area.  In later years, the farming turned mainly to ranching and trucking.  He supplied coal to the Mohall School, RBM Hospital, Renville County Court House, several businesses and homes.  He was also hired to move several buildings.
Arnold loved trees and gardening.  He was adamant about planting trees everywhere he lived and always had a spotless garden, sharing their produce with everyone.
Family:  Wife of 56 years, Betty Erickson, Minot; stepchildren, Kevin (Denise) Larson, Pelham, GA, Kelly Mayse, Bostic, NC, Brent (Bonnie) Larson, Prescott Valley, AZ, Terry (Joan) Larson, Naples, FL, Tamie (Jerry) Gates, Bismarck; step grandchildren, Mandi Skinner, Lindsey Larson, Cody Larson, Nicole Johnson, Dylan Larson, Brandon Gates, Colton Gates; four step great-grandchildren; and brother, Earl Erickson, Eureka, CA.
Arnold was preceded in death by:  his parents; siblings, Edward Erickson, Janet Lindquist, Dorma Schiele, Karen Unruh, Edwin Erickson and Betty Talley; step grandchildren, Joshua Larson and Cassidy Yelton; sons-in-law, Mike Yelton and Tommy Mayse.
Funeral:  11:00 a.m., Friday, August 18, 2023, at Brose Funeral Home, Mohall.  Friends may also sign the online guestbook at brosefunralhome.com.
Burial:  McKinney Cemetery, rural Tolley.
