MOHALL - Cody Duane Randash, 35, Mohall, died Saturday at a Minot hospital.  Cody fought hard but lost his battle with colon cancer, surrounded by his loving family.
Cody was born October 25, 1988, in Minot, to Les and Shelly (Stark) Randash.  Cody had a rough start and came into the world fighting. After taking his first breath, one of his lungs popped, but he wasn't going to let that stop him.  He was baptized at the hospital.  He loved spending time at the Stark family farm and the cabin at Mouse River Park.  Summers as a boy were spent terrorizing his sisters and cousins with the help of his little buddy Matt.
Cody graduated from Minot High School 2007.  For many years, he was a camper at Triangle-Y Camp in Garrison.  He loved being at camp and wasn't ready to say goodbye as he got older so he became a groundskeeper. From 2004-2007, he worked there each summer where he "cleaned, fixed stuff, killed tons of bees, and had one hell of a time."  From 2006-2008, he worked as a furniture mover at Broadway Used Furniture with two of his favorite people, Karn and Terry Stevick.
From an early age, he had a fascination with anything he could take apart and get mostly back together.  He attended Wahpeton State School of Science where he studied to become an electrician.  While in school, he spent his summers as an apprentice at Northland Electric in Mohall, where he continued to work after graduation. He was so proud when he earned his Journeyman's license. Cody loved being an electrician and continued to work as much as he could while doing chemo treatments.
Cody loved spending time with family whether it was hunting, fishing, drinking a cold one, or listening to great music.  He was a friend to everyone and the biggest teddy bear.  He gave the biggest, warmest, best hugs in the world.  He had a smile that lit up the room and everyone became a member of the "fam."  He had the kindest and most generous soul.
Cody could be found each summer at the Pruitt farm bartending from Bug's Bar where he mixed them strong and where the kids knew him as the "Popsicle King."  If there was a trail ride, he was there.  Some of his earliest memories were from rides at Uncle Dale's.  Thursday nights you would find Cody playing darts with his team, the Blackberry Bandits.  Cody had all the luck when playing pull-tabs. He seemed to win hundreds every time he put a dollar into a machine.  He loved to game. Whether it was video games, D&D, Magic, Pokemon, or board games.  He spent a lot of time at a gaming store in Minot playing games with anyone who wanted to play.
Cody loved cats and cats sure loved him.  Cody's cat, Ted, or as he liked to call him, "my blue-eyed monster," was his constant companion.  Every morning he woke Cody up with a kiss to his nose.  And if there was any cat within ten miles, you can bet it would find Cody!
Cody and his family were blown away by the support he received at his benefit held in Tolley this past fall.  He couldn't believe all those people would show up just for him.  He definitely felt the love from his community.  We request that anyone with a t-shirt from his benefit wear it to the funeral; and if you have a Packers hat, wear it with pride.

Cody was preceded in death by:  his Papa Duane and Gram Louise "Snookie" Stark; Grandpa Joe and Grandma Donna Randash; and cousin, Matt Stark.
Funeral: 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Zion Lutheran Church, Mohall.
Burial: McKinney Cemetery, rural Tolley.
Sharing of Memories Service: 7:30 p.m., Friday, November 24, 2023, at the church.
Visitation: 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Friday, at the church.  Friends may also sign the online guestbook at brosefuneralhome.com.
Memorials: Memorials are preferred to the M-L-S Community Improvement Foundation or the Triangle-Y Camp Campership Fund.
