Cindy was born February 15, 1942, in Greensboro, NC, to Kenneth K. and Hester (Rudd) Oakes. She was educated in Greensboro, and Lander, WY, and graduated from high school in 1960. She attended the University of North Carolina. In 1963, she moved with her family to Minot.
Cindy worked at a bank in downtown Minot; during that time she met the love of her life, Lyle McLain. They were married on November 7, 1964. They farmed south of Mohall where they raised various crops and a variety of livestock, and two beautiful children. Cindy had many endeavors over the years, but her heart was always with Lyle and the farming activities and her family.
Cindy was a member of the Mohall United Methodist Church, and various other groups and clubs in Mohall, and was supportive of her children's activities. Among the many interests she enjoyed, she loved to travel, reading and spend time family and friends were her favorites.
Cindy will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Our family would like to thank everyone who has texted, called and messaged, and prayed for us during this time. We appreciated all of them!
