Obituary

Deota May Bullock (Rufenacht), "Dee" as she was better known, passed away June 1, 2024, at the Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home in Bottineau.
Dee was born May 12, 1927, in rural Mohall.  She attended school at Hoffman rural school and graduated from Mohall High School.  She moved to San Diego, CA, and raised two step-children and two of her own daughters.  While in San Diego, after her children were grown, she went on a trip to Spain.
She eventually moved back to Sherwood to run the cafe there.  She then started working at the RBM Hospital under Dr. Gokavi and alongside Dorothy McCrory.
After retiring, Dee was busy with her yard and helped her brother, Buford Rufenacht, on the family farm.  She would also take many trips, including Hawaii, Austria, and other parts of the United States.
She moved into the Sherwood apartments where she lived many years until being placed in the Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home in Mohall, and then on to the Good Samaritan Society Nursing Home in Bottineau.  Dee was a wonderful mother, friend, and teacher to all.  She will be missed.
Family: She is survived by her daughters, Nicolette Connors, Eugene, OR; and Diane (Jim) Johnson, rural Antler; and several nieces and nephews.
Dee was preceded in death by: her parents; five brothers; and two sisters.
At her request, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral.  A private family gathering and scattering of ashes will occur at a later date.
