MAXBASS – Elaine Gertrude Rogers, 76, Maxbass, died Friday, June 7, 2024, at a Minot hospital.
She was born February 21, 1948, in Jamestown, to Leonard and Helen (Ness) Ellis.  She was raised in Erie and moved to Fargo with her family.  She graduated with honors with the first class to graduate from Fargo North High School in 1966.
She graduated from St. Luke's School of Nursing in Fargo in 1969.  She worked in the cardiac care unit at St. Luke's Hospital, Fargo, as a registered nurse from 1969 to 1972.
Elaine married Kenneth J. "Kenny" Rogers on June 27, 1970.  They moved to the family farm near Maxbass in 1972.  They were blessed with a daughter, Amy, born November 27, 1972; and then blessed with a son, Chris, born July 30, 1979.  Elaine worked as an RN at the Westhope Home for the Aged from 1978 to 2006.
Elaine loved music all her life.  She played the cello from grade school through high school, then changed to playing the guitar and singing.  She shared her talents and her love of Jesus teaching Bible school and Sunday school for over 40 years at English Lutheran Church, Maxbass.  In later years, she shared her faith leading two Bible studies for several years.  In her spare time, she loved doing a variety of crafts and reading.  One of her greatest joys was spending time with her granddaughter, Jasmine.
Elaine was also involved in the community, a member of the PTO, Craft Club, Maxbass Garden Club and Graceland Cemetery committee.
Survived by: Husband of 53 years, Kenny Rogers, Maxbass; daughter, Amy Rogers, Grand Forks; son, Chris Rogers, Maxbass; granddaughter, Jasmine Rogers, Minot; sister, Marilyn Martinez, Johnston, IA; brothers-in-law, Mauritz Carlson, Sheyenne, Ronnie Klein, Karlsruhe; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Elaine was preceded in death by: her parents; father- and mother-in-law, Jack and Alice Rogers, sisters, Donna Schurdevin, twin-sister, Eilene Carlson; brothers-in-law, John Martinez and Roy Schurdevin; sister-in-law, Gloria Klein; and nephews, Lee Schurdevin and Erik Carlson.
Funeral: 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 21, 2024, at English Lutheran Church, Maxbass.
Sharing of Memories Service (Open to the public): 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 20, 2024, at the church.
Visitation: 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, at the church.  Friends may also sign the online guestbook at brosefuneralhome.com.
