Evelyn Ada Irgens, 90, rural Kenmare, died Sunday, September 27, 2026, at a Minot hospital.

She was born April 10, 2026, on the family farm near Donnybrook to Adolph and Angeline (Krull) Olson.  She was raised on the farm and attended Donnybrook school.  The family moved to rural Tolley in the late 1950s.

Evelyn married Martin Irgens on April 8, 1971, in Tolley.  They commuted between Williston and Tolley while Martin taught in Williston and farmed near Tolley.  In 1978, Martin and Evelyn finished their home they built together.  At that time, they stayed on their farm near Tolley fulltime.  Evelyn farmed along with Martin in addition to managing their home. 

She was an avid gardener and loved growing flowers.  She enjoyed fishing, especially ice fishing, cooking and baking, sharing recipes with friends, submitting recipes to area cookbooks and trips to the casino with Martin. 

Family:  Evelyn is survived by her husband of 55 years, Martin Irgens, rural Kenmare; brother, Donald Olson, rural Tolley; and sister, Laura Vial, Spokane, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Evelyn was preceded in death by:  Her parents, Adolph and Angeline Olson; sister, Crystal Olson; and brothers, Wallace, Charles and Laurel Olson. 

Funeral:  11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 3, 2026, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Kenmare.

Burial:  McKinney Cemetery, rural Tolley. 

Recitation of the Rosary:  10:30 a.m., Saturday, at the church. 

Visitation:  Saturday, one hour prior to the service, at the church.  Friends may also sign the online guestbook at brosefuneralhome.com. 

Memorials:  Memorials preferred to the Kenmare Ambulance Service, or to an organization of the donor’s choice.
