MOHALL - James Eldon "Jim" Otto, 66, rural Mohall, passed away at home on Friday, October 9, 2020, just short of his 67 ^th birthday.
He was born on October 16, 1953, in Mohall, to Eldon and Avis (Sandeen) Otto.  Jim graduated from Mohall High School in 1971.  He attended Minot State College for a year and a half, before returning to Mohall to farm full time.
Jim married Barbara K. Christensen on October 6, 1978, in Verona.  In 1988, they welcomed the birth of their son, Andrew, whom Jim loved dearly.  Jim continued to farm right up to his death, despite enduring some medical challenges along the way.
In his free time, he loved to ice fish, golf, hunt and go camping.
Family: Jim is survived by his wife of 42 years, Barbara, and his son, Andrew, of Mohall; brother, Gerald Otto; sisters, Joan Otto and Jane Anseth, all of Mohall; brothers-in-law, Thomas Christensen, Verona, Robert (Nicole) Christensen, West Fargo; sisters-in-law, Mary (Christensen) Walsh, Feeding Hills, MA, Janice (Dennis) Heiden, Pinetop, AZ, Nancy Christensen, Sun Lakes, AZ, and Teri (Stephen) Shepherd, West Fargo, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by: his parents; sister, Ardith Otto; brother-in-law, Herb Anseth; and sisters-in-law, Lori Christensen, and Nancy (Thomas) Christensen.
Graveside Service: 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at the Mohall Community Cemetery, Mohall.  Please observe social distancing guidelines.  A video of the graveside service will be posted to the online obituary after the service.
Following the graveside service, there will be a time of coffee and fellowship at the Mohall Community Center.
Visitation: Friends may sign the guestbook from noon to 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at Brose Funeral Home, Mohall.  Friends may also sign the online guestbook at brosefuneralhome.com.
