Janell Justine Power, 69, Minot, formerly of Antler, went to be with Jesus on Thursday, August 5, 2021, at a Minot hospital, with her family by her side.
Janell was born December 16, 1951, at Trinity Hospital in Minot, to Justin and Phyllis (Peterson) Thompson.  She was raised on the family farm in Antler, attended Antler Public School and graduated from Hillcrest Lutheran Academy in Fergus Falls, MN.  She recently attended and celebrated her 50 th high school class reunion.
She graduated from Trinity School of Nursing and worked as a register nurse for 37 years.  She was a very kind and compassionate nurse.  Our family was blessed with caring nurses, just like her, during her care on the very floor on which she worked.
Janell was married in 1977.  She was blessed with a daughter, Andrea, in 1979; and a son, Michael, in 1984.  She attended Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church, Antler, and Our Redeemer's Lutheran Brethren Church, Minot.  She was involved in the church, brought her children up in Our Redeemer's Church.  She taught and nurtured her faith in the Lord with her family and others.
She loved going to the farm to spend time with her sister, Chris, and brother-in-law, Steve.  She loved getting together with all the family for celebrations, holidays, and just to be together.  She was happy to add daughter-in-law, Megan, in 2017.  Janell has four grandchildren she loved dearly, Zachary Darling in 2005, Allison Darling in 2009, Juniper Power in 2018, and Ezra Power in 2021.
In 2018, she moved into a new condo in Minot where she loved planting and growing her raised garden of tomatoes and green peppers that her granddaughter, Juniper, liked eating right off the plant.  She also had many potted flowers that brought color to her patio.  Janell liked MeTV for all her nostalgic shows, her favorites being old westerns.  Janell and Megan liked watching Jeopardy together, trying to guess the answers.  A yearly trip to Medora was always made with daughter, Andrea, and grandkids, Zachary and Allison, with discussions if this year's musical was better than last's.  Most recently, she went on a trip with her sister to Minnesota for a family wedding.  She loved her family so much, and was always there for them, teaching them her kindness for all and her love for Christ.  He used her to show them His perfect, unconditional love for all.  She is very missed and is with our Lord and Savior, healed of all our earthly pain and sin.  Thank you Jesus for the amazing woman you placed in our lives.
Family: daughter, Andrea Darling, Bismarck; son, Michael (Megan) Power, Minot; grandchildren, Zachary and Allison Darling, and Juniper and Ezra Power; sister, Chris (Steve) Lauer, Antler; nieces, Jennifer (Lars) Coleman, Snohomish, WA, and Angela (Charles) Strand, Antler; nephew, Matthew (Gwendoline) Lauer, Antler; many great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
