SHERWOOD – Jean O. Perron, 93, Sherwood, died peacefully at her home, on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, with family by her side.
She was born November 26, 1927, on the family farm in Willow City to D. Harry and Hazel (Larson) Miller.  She had four sisters and one brother.
Jean attended Pleasant Valley Country School through the eighth grade, stating, "I walked through many cold winters to get there."  She attended high school in Willow City and graduated in 1945.
She started college that summer at Minot Teachers College and in the fall was sent to teach at Eden Valley Country School east of Sherwood.  It was there she met her future husband, Dallas Perron.  She taught one year at Eden Valley and then went back to college.  She then taught in Granville until getting married in June of 1948.
Dallas and Jean moved to the farm in Sherwood and resided there until 1984 when they moved into Sherwood.  They had three children, Michael, Jerri and Stephen.
Jean did substitute teaching until their last child started school.  She then taught in Plaza, Kenmare and Sherwood until retiring in 1983 after 23 years of teaching.  Teaching was her passion.
Dallas and Jean wintered in Las Vegas for 23 years.  Jean loved the nickel machines.  Jean helped on the farm cooking and hauling many meals to the field.  She always said she hated to cook and bake, but loved to do both for her grandkids.  Lefse was her specialty.
Jean had many hobbies.  She loved the outdoors, gardening and growing beautiful flowers.  She was active in the Sherwood Flower and Garden Club, loved to play any kind of cards, with pinochle being her favorite.  She loved crafts, playing bingo, and in her younger years, was an avid bowler.  Jean would go to Willow City on Tuesday evenings for many years to join her sisters in playing bingo.  Jean was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Sherwood, and the St. James Altar Society, holding offices throughout the years as president, secretary and treasurer.
Dallas and Jean moved to Minot in 2011 when Dallas was ill.  Dallas died in 2012.  Jean continued to stay in Minot, moving to Somerset Court.  She moved back to her Sherwood home in 2021.
