SHERWOOD - Kennard James Hefter, 85, Minot, formerly of Sherwood, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2020, at a Minot hospital.
Ken was born March 6, 1935, in Eden Valley Township, Renville County, to Bill and Betty (Wenker) Hefter.
Ken married Patricia Gates on February 5, 1955.  Ken and Pat farmed and lived in Sherwood all their married life.  They wintered in Lake Havasu City, AZ, for many years.
Family: wife of 65 years, Pat; children, JoAnn (Bill) Coutts, Glendale, AZ, Janet Sandeen, Stanley, and Jeff (Jennifer) Hefter, Sherwood; grandchildren, Jennifer Coutts (Brandon) Burris, Jessica Coutts (Pete) Haga, Adam (Emily) Coutts, Marcie Sandeen (Jered) Johnson, Alex (Katie) Sandeen, Brett (Kaylee) Hefter, Brady (Chelsie) Hefter; 15 great-grandchildren and one more on the way.
Ken was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Gene Hefter; and son-in-law, Paul Sandeen.
Funeral: A family funeral will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at St. James Catholic Church, Sherwood.  After the funeral, a link to view the service will be placed on his online obituary.
Burial: Loraine Cemetery, Loraine.
Visitation: Friends may sign the guestbook from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday, July 6, 2020, at Brose Funeral Home, Mohall.
Memorials: Memorials preferred to the Loraine Cemetery.
