LaVerne Marie Irgens Triplett, 96, of Bismarck ND, died December 21, 2022, in Northfield MN while visiting relatives. She died peacefully in her sleep after five days in hospital.

She was born August 15, 1926, near Tolley, Renville County, ND, to Harold Irgens and Pauline 'Polly' (Ethen) Irgens. She spent her childhood on a farm along the Souris River north of Tolley. She was the oldest of three siblings.

LaVerne never stopped reminiscing about her charmed childhood:  tending farm animals, riding a horse to school, and sharing adventures with neighboring children, several of whom became lifelong dear friends.

She met every new challenge with quiet determination. She was a gentle, generous, and loving soul.

LaVerne married Darrell Triplett in October 1952. They raised a family together and farmed for more than 50 years in Ivanhoe Township southeast of Tolley.

Darrell and LaVerne retired to Bismarck in 2008. Darrell died December 1, 2019. LaVerne continued to reside at home until her death, assisted at the end by son Craig and other relatives and friends.

LaVerne is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Martin and Evelyn Irgens. She was briefly survived by all five children: Michael (Jennifer), Constance (Gerald Groenewold), Timothy (Kari), Craig (Clifton 'Buzz' Hudgins), and Kelly (Kim). Her oldest son Michael died just three days after LaVerne passed.

She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

LaVerne was preceded in death by both parents, her husband Darrell, and her sister Laura Allen.

Funeral:  11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tolley.

Burial:  McKinney Cemetery, rural Tolley.
