LANSFORD – Lawrence David "Larry" Hammer, 95, Minot, formerly of Lansford, died Friday, November 19, 2021, at a Minot nursing home, one day shy of his 96
th
birthday.
He was born November 20, 1925, in Minot, to George and Hortense (Gleason) Hammer. On July 12, 1950, Lawrence was united in marriage to Elvera Jean Hettinger. They lived on the Hammer family farm north of Lansford where they raised their four children.
Lawrence farmed and ranched, managed the Lansford Lanes Bowling Alley, and drove bus for Lansford Public School for 36 years. Elvera died March 24, 1988.
He enjoyed following his son's and grandson's basketball, baseball and softball games. He also enjoyed the Nodak races, especially the sprint car races, hunting and fishing, and watching the Minnesota Twins.

Lawrence was preceded in death by:
his parents, George and Hortense Hammer; wife, Elvera Hammer; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley (Lawrence) Clouse; and brother, David Hammer.
Funeral:
11:00 a.m., Monday, November 29, 2021, at St. John Catholic Church, Lansford. A link to a video of the service will be posted to his online obituary after the service.
Burial:
Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
