LANSFORD – Lynnette Rae Cunningham, 76, Lansford, died Monday, March 2, 2026, at a Minot assisted living facility. She was born July 29, 1949, in Minot to Clarence and Anita (Engelhard) Bloms. She was raised on a farm near Lansford and graduated as valedictorian of the Lansford High School Class of 1967. She attended the University of North Dakota for two years.
Lynnette married Glen Cunningham on August 30, 1969, at St. John Catholic Church, Lansford. They moved to a farm in Mount Rose Township, Bottineau County. Lynnette held several jobs including working at the Lansford Café, Schepp’s Deli, making ceramics at Audrey Savelkoul’s and serving on the Lansford Ambulance Service for many years. She retired from ING in Minot in 2013.
Lynnette was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Lansford, and the church Altar Society. She served as the church organist for 30+ years. Lynnette was very artistic and musical. She loved working with ceramics, crocheting, painting, cross-stitch, rock painting, glass mosaics, bead art and jewelry and tending to her flowers.
Lynnette loved many things: family, dear friends, her bowling crew, playing school with her grandchildren, swimming in Lake Havasu, trips to Mexico with friends, traveling to North Carolina to visit her sister and family, painting rocks and coloring with her grandchildren, Bloms lunches, attending ALL the sporting events of her family and visiting with family and friends on her deck.
Family: Husband of 56 years, Glen Cunningham; children, Sheila (Tom) Leshovsky, Minot, Joseph (Val) Cunningham, Minot, Sara Corrick, Littlerock, CA, and Patrick (Amy) Cunningham, Lansford; grandchildren, Emily (Darin) Malafa, Kaylee Cunningham, Noah Cunningham, Lukas Cunningham, Max Cunningham, Sophie Cunningham, Bayley Corrick, Morgan Leshovsky and James Corrick; great-grandchildren, Atlas Malafa and a great-granddaughter on the way; siblings, Eileen Schacher, Wilmington, NC, Jerry (Joyce) Bloms, Minot, and Mitch Bloms (Pat), Fargo; in-laws, Gayle Cunningham, Brookings, SD, Wanda Cunningham, Redvers, Saskatchewan, Canada, Marie (Mike) Sidener, Minot, Neta (Brian) Lee, Minot, Rod (JoAnn) Stevens, Upham, and Jerry (Colette) Cunningham, Lansford; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, aunts and uncles, and the Kansas Cunningham Crew.
Lynnette was preceded in death by: Her parents, Clarence and Anita Bloms; brother, Kelly Bloms; brothers-in-law, Curt Schacher, Lee Cunningham and Earl Cunningham; sister-in-law, Geneva Stevens; niece, Lindsey Cunningham; nephew, Noah Cunningham; and father- and mother-in-law, Carl and Elma Cunningham.
Funeral: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 7, 2026, at St. John Catholic Church, Lansford.
Burial: St. John Catholic Cemetery, Lansford.
Vigil Service: 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 6, 2026, at the church.
