MOHALL – Sharlene Mildred Greek, 90, Mohall, died Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at her home. 

She was born November 22, 1935, in Mohall, to John and Adrie (Ekstrom) Smith.  She graduated from Mohall High School in 1954 and attended Bismarck Hospital School of Nursing. 

Sharlene married the love of her life, Harold Greek, son of Amelia and Lacy Greek, on March 15, 1955.  Sharlene was an amazing farm wife; she and Harold were partners on the farm.  She had many roles:  raising seven children, tending to two large gardens, canning and working in the fields along-side Harold.  Sharlene was also a CNA at the Good Samaritan Society nursing home for 35 years. 

Sharlene was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Mohall, and a member of the Altar Society.  She was active in the community; she served as a president of the Mr. & Mrs. Jaycees, was a 4-H leader, a den mother for Boy Scouts and volunteered with the music boosters.  She was an advocate for women’s and children’s health, and served with the Well Child Clinic. 

She was an avid reader and enjoyed bowling and square dancing.  Sharlene’s love surrounded her family:  her faith, love and example guided the lives of her family. 

Family:  Children, Gregory (Colette) Greek, Grand Forks, Candyce (Winston) Titus, Bismarck, Jeffrey (Katie) Greek, Castle Rock, CO, Vicki Michels, Minot, Pamela Heyd (Gordy) Grand Forks, Kari (Eddie) Berentson, Minot, and Melissa (Dan) Lovelace, Sawyer; 19 grandchildren, Michael (Riann) Greek, Katy (Jeff) Oher, Kristen (Matt) Erredge, Matthew Greek, Melanie (Russ) Morgan, Winston Ryan (Bridgette) Titus, Adam (Tonilee) Titus, Brittany (Joe) Bellew, Amelia Greek, Rachel Greek, Aaron (Crystal) Michels, Eric (Emily) Michels, Ashley Heyd, Alexander Heyd, Lacey (Cole) Krueger, Tyrone (Maddie) Berentson, Nicholas Berentson, Dillon Greek and Sidney (Jacob) Widdel; 27 great-grandchildren; sister, Janine Webb, sister-in-law, Sandy Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sharlene was preceded in death by:  Her loving husband of 70 years, Harold Greek; parents, John and Adrie Smith; great-granddaughter, Ella Marie Greek; brothers, John, Gary and Boyd Smith; mother- and father-in-law, Lacy and Amelia Greek; and brothers- and sisters-in-law, Gerald (Hancine) Greek, James (Jackie) Greek and Beverly (James) Pillatzke.

Funeral:  11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 24, 2026, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, Mohall.

Burial:  Mohall Community Cemetery, Mohall. 

Recitation of the Rosary/Vigil Service:  7:00 p.m., Friday, October 23, 2026, at the church.
