IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sherry Lynn
Neubauer
November 11, 1950 – September 11, 2024
Sherry Lynn Neubauer, 73, Mohall, was called home to join her parents, son and other loved ones on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Trinity hospital, Minot.
Sherry was born in Mohall to Ervin and Anne (Pederson) Neubauer on November 11, 1950. Sherry was the fourth child of the "great eight" Neubauer children. Sherry attended and graduated from Mohall Public School.
In 1975, she became a production line worker for Sweetheart Bakery in Minot. She took great pride in being their Union Representative in her free time. She was there for 23 years until it closed in 1998.
Sherry married Gregory Cabral in 1982 and returned to Mohall after their divorce in 1984.
During her years in Mohall, Sherry worked different jobs in and around the Mohall area, telemarketing at MTI, bartending in Sherwood, Foxholm and Drinks in Mohall and delivering the Minot Daily Newspaper.
Upon his death 2012, Sherry took over Erv's job managing the city landfill. She looked forward to people stopping by and having a quick chat every week. Sherry loved living in Mohall and knowing almost everyone in town. She treasured stopping and having conversations with people while running errands.
She enjoyed cooking, but her dry turkey got her fired from making the main course at Thanksgiving. She redeemed herself with her "Sherry Scotcharoos." Many have tried to replicate them and failed. She always said it was the timing of boiling the mixture.
Sherry's pride and joy was being a grandma. She loved to help in any way she could and was never too busy to hear updates about what the kids were doing. She loved hearing a good joke or story and if the punchline was a whopper; her booming laugh would ring out. Her smile was infectious, and she always tried to find the humor in everything.
