About Us
Truman Dahle originally had his funeral home in Carpio, ND. The Mohall community leaders convinced him to move his funeral home from Carpio to Mohall in 1945. An old church was moved into town, a basement dug, and the building placed on top. Truman moved a house, which became his residence, from Aurelia, ND, and placed it next door to the funeral home. He operated the Dahle Funeral Home in Mohall from 1945 until 1969.
Richard G. "Dick" Anderson, a Glenburn native, purchased the funeral home from Mr. Dahle in 1969. Mr. Anderson renamed the funeral home, Anderson Mortuary. Dick, and his wife, Helene, an elementary school teacher, operated the funeral home until his retirement in 1996.
William C. "Bill" Nelson, a Walhalla, ND, native, purchased the funeral home in 1996 from Mr. Anderson. Bill operated the funeral home as Anderson-Nelson Funeral Home. Mr. Nelson comes from a funeral service family. His father and two of his brothers were funeral directors. Bill sold the business in 2004.
Jeff Brose, originally from Hillsboro, ND, purchased the funeral home on November 12, 2004, from Mr. Nelson. After a few years of ownership, he changed the name to Brose Funeral Home.
Four different owners have served Mohall and the surrounding communities for 75 years out of the same location.
